Tijah's football journey began at Independence High School, where he played a pivotal role in securing a perfect 16-0 record and a Class 4-AA State Championship in 2006. His standout performances earned him first-team All-Southwestern Conference and All-Mecklenburg honors, cementing his status as a rising star in the world of football.
Transitioning to Marshall University, Tijah continued to make his mark on the field, starting in 11 of 12 games during his collegiate career. His tenacity and skill were evident as he tallied 47 tackles, 1.5 for a loss of yardage, during his time with the Thundering Herd. Notable highlights include a stellar performance against UAB, where he recorded seven tackles, an interception with a 22-yard return, and a crucial pass breakup. Tijah's impact extended beyond individual accolades, as he played a pivotal role in Marshall's defensive success, amassing nine breakups on the season, including four in a standout win over Memphis.
Following his collegiate career, Tijah embarked on a journey into coaching, driven by a desire to share his knowledge and passion for the game with the next generation of athletes. His transition to coaching at Butler High has been marked by a dedication to developing top-tier defensive backs, evident in the numerous accolades garnered by his players under his guidance.
